a Lifetime of Faithfulness and Ministry

A.V Henderson was born on September 18, 1919, in Anson in Jones County, Texas. He spent more than 75 years in ministry as a pastor in the states of Luisiana, Texas (Baptist Temple, San Angelo), Indiana (Calvary Baptist Church, Connersville), Delaware (First Baptist Church, New Castle) and Michigan (Temple BAptist Church, Detroit).

Dr. Henderson succeeded G.B Vick as the pastor of Temple Baptist Church, Detroit, Mi in 1975 where he pastored for eight years. Throughout his ministry he was active in the BBFI serving in several national offices. He served as BBFI president fron 1972-1974, He is also the only person to have served as the founder and president of Baptist Bible College East (Now Bosten Baptist College). He also served as president of Baptist Bible College , Springfield MO, (1983-1986).

His ministry started in a church in West Texas on a dirt floor, and he would later Pastor the largest Independent Baptist Church,  He had a pastor's heart which drew people to him. 

Dr. A.V Henderson greeted his Savior face to face on December 28, 2015, He was 96 years old at his passing.
